In this musical adaptation with original songs, a pretty Irish colleen leaves New York for a stately home in England where she will receive lessons in grooming and behavior from her snobbish cousins and very proper aunt. Inheritances are in question and surprises in store, however, when a rebellious Peg encounters an unknown benefactor and falls madly in love.

Pal Joey - movie poster

Based on a series of short stories John O'Hara had written for THE NEW YORKER about Joey Evans, a small-time, fast-talking Chicago entertainer. Pal Joey opened at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on December 25, 1940 with a cast that featured Gene Kelly (Joey), Vivienne Segal (Vera) and Leila Ernst (Linda). The score includes such hits as "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered", "I Could Write A Book", "Zip" and You Musn't Kick It Around." The NEW YORK HERALD TRIBUNE wrote:

"Brilliant, sardonic and strikingly original ... an outstanding triumph ... done
with such zest and scornful relish that it achieves genuine power."

A Celtic Christmas is a special Christmas celebration in Celtic story and song starring members of The Irish Repertory Theatre Company. The show features stories and traditional Christmas music from Ireland, England, Scotland, and America, as well as our popular adaptation of Dylan Thomas’ A Child’s Christmas in Wales.
